"Shards of Glass: A Kaleidoscopic Life's Memoir." Francine Glasser, Epigraph Publishing. Because her family constantly had to flee the repercussions of her father's gambling addiction, Francine Glasser was consigned to a childhood devoid of connection and marked by loss after loss of everything she cherished. Friends, relatives, pets, and possessions were left behind each time her family ran from debt collectors, sometimes in the middle of the night, and left town for yet another hopeless new start. For Francine, painful memories of those rootless years were like the fragments of color, light, and darkness in a kaleidoscope. But years later, clinging to her love for the father responsible for her lost childhood, those shards of glass would reorganize into patterns of forgiveness, stability, beauty, and peace. This book was conceived long ago, because Francine had always wanted to tell the story of her search for a forever home. Years later, as a practicing psychotherapist and social worker her life was invested in hearing the stories and traumas of those whom she counseled and helped make peace with their past. In this book, Francine has sought to make peace with her own past by introducing readers to all the important people, places, and things in her life on the run. Today, she is home at last, yet struggling with symptoms of Agoraphobia. The pieces of a child's shattered life, as seen through the metaphor of a kaleidoscope, have finally come together to complete this part of her story. I am now 60 years old and reaching this age readied me to complete my story of my early childhood. The Covid Pandemic afforded me the time and luxury to focus on writing my memoir.

I always wished to tell my story to make sense of my years of moving with my family, repeatedly, and in Shards of Glass I finally make the story come to life to rework it and lay it to rest. I developed agoraphobia going on four years ago and my life became quite restricted regarding spontaneity and mobility. Juxtaposed with a childhood on the road is ironic in and of itself.

I am now happily at home in a hamlet named Sleightsburgh nearby Kingston, NY and recently coordinated a block party where neighbors mingled and met one another and it was a wonderful event. I also remotely volunteer with Services to the Armed Forces via the American Red Cross.

One thing I haven’t until now disclosed is that I wrote much of this memoir on my iPhone late at night, lying in bed when I couldn’t sleep.

"Methodology." Wikipedia.org. Methodology is "'a contextual framework' for research, a coherent and logical scheme based on views, beliefs, and values, that guides the choices researchers [or other users] make". It comprises the theoretical analysis of the body of methods and principles associated with a branch of knowledge such that the methodologies employed from differing disciplines vary depending on their historical development. This creates a continuum of methodologies that stretch across competing understandings of how knowledge and reality are best understood. This situates methodologies within overarching philosophies and approaches. Methodology may be visualized as a spectrum from a predominantly quantitative approach towards a predominantly qualitative approach. Although a methodology may conventionally sit specifically within one of these approaches, researchers may blend approaches in answering their research objectives and so have methodologies that are multimethod and/or interdisciplinary. Overall, a methodology does not set out to provide solutions - it is therefore, not the same as a method. Instead, a methodology offers a theoretical perspective for understanding which method, set of methods, or best practices can be applied to the research question(s) at hand. 1. "Star Wars & the Entropic Spiral." NathanGoldwag, Wordpress.com. Star Wars, taking the entire canon as a fully-integrated story, chronicles the decline and collapse of Galactic Civilization into an entropic spiral of chaos, bloodshed, and civilizational disintegration that will inevitably lead to an era of warlordism and barbarism in the absence of governance and civil order, a Long Night that will likely last centuries or even millennia before the rise of a new Galactic Republic. No, really. It does! I am a fierce apologist for the Old Star Wars Expanded Universe (or at least aspects of it), but something that fascinates me about it is the way in which the demands of continuous storytelling have a warping affect on the original Universe. The need to continuously produce new content with the same cast of original characters ensured that no victory could be final, no status quo remain stable. The accidental result is a corpus of work that, rather than telling the story of Good Triumphing Over Evil, as the Original Trilogy does, tells the tale of Galactic Civilization beginning it’s long tailspin into disintegration over the course of seventy years. 1. "Fig. #1." Arkashea.org, accessed October 19, 2021. Fig. #1. The spiraling diagram above is an example of how it would be like to look upon an Entropic Continuum end to end. Needless to say, as the circling becomes tighter and tighter towards the center, there is less energy fed to keep the continuum's target action going; and, as a result, the target action becomes less and less active, until it stops completely. If one were to truly begin to work on the process of controlling his emotions, then they would be starting at the continuum's outer rim. As more and more control was achieved, they would find themselves nearer the center. https://www.arkashea.org/spiritual-lexicon/E/entropic-spiral.html
