List taken from this video's description:

"Trump COWERS In Bunker As America Rises." The Damage Report, Youtube. [9:04] Trump cowers in an underground bunker as America rises during national protests. John Iadarola and Francesca Fiorentini break it down on The Damage Report. "As protests in response to the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officers continued outside the White House, President Donald Trump was reportedly taken into an underground bunker by the Secret Service for about an hour Friday evening. The New York Times first reported that the president was rushed to a bunker on Friday. CNN senior national correspondent Alex Marquardt confirmed that reporting in an appearance live from Washington, D.C. during a program hosted by Don Lemon. Marquardt discussed the protests that had occurred in D.C. and many other cities across America over the past few nights. Like several other cities, D.C. has imposed a curfew, effective at 11:00 pm local time. Marquardt noted that the protest had been peaceful during the day, but expected that it would start to get “violent” and “unruly” as the sun was setting. The National Guard has been deployed in D.C. to help keep order and was continuing to assist D.C. police and federal park service officers specifically in attempting to maintain distance between the protesters and the White House." "The most unfathomable schools and sages have never attained to the gravity which dwells in the eyes of a baby of three months old. It is the gravity of astonishment at the universe, and astonishment at the universe is not mysticism, but a transcendent common sense. The fascination of children lies in this: that with each of them all things are remade, and the universe is put again upon its trial. As we walk the streets and see below us those delightful bulbous heads, three times too big for the body, which mark these human mushrooms, we ought always to remember that within every one of these heads there is a new universe, as new as it was on the seventh day of creation. In each of those orbs there is a new system of stars, new grass, new cities, a new sea."—G. K. Chesterton

[6:21] In US news and current events today, pastor and Senate candidate Reverend Raphael Warnock delivered a sermon on the death of George Floyd, the George Floyd protests and Black Lives Matter protests, and the pandemic of racism that has infested our nation for centuries.   In light of growing movement against police brutality, police racism, and systemic racism as a whole, the civil rights movement is once again looking to leaders of faith to teach and heal the nation. While millions of protesters take to the streets in protest, Rev. Raphael Warnock, Senate candidate, is changing hearts and minds from the pulpit, and teaching us all an important lesson about race and what it means to be Black in America. [18:20] Protests have erupted in Atlanta, where the police killing of unarmed African American man Rayshard Brooks in a Wendy’s parking lot has outraged residents. The autopsy revealed that Brooks was shot in the back as he was running away, and the death has been ruled a homicide by the county medical examiner. Brooks’s killing comes as protests against racism and police violence continue across the country. The Atlanta police chief has already resigned, and the officer who shot Brooks has been fired. “What we saw happen to Mr. Brooks is unfortunately something that we continue to see repeated in our communities all across this country,” says Mary Hooks, co-director of Southerners on New Ground, which is part of the National Bail Out collective and the Movement for Black Lives. “What we continue to see is police being called in as first responders to things that they should not be showing up for.” Jun 15, 2020. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_P75C_rpZ0

[13:29] As protests against racism and police violence continue across the United States, we speak with Derrick Sanderlin, a San Jose community organizer who has spent years training police on avoiding implicit bias toward people of color, but an officer from the same police department shot him in the groin with a rubber bullet during a May 29 protest against racism and police violence, rupturing Sanderlin’s testicle and possibly affecting his ability to have children. [4:17] Protests have erupted in Atlanta, where residents are outraged at the police killing of unarmed Black man Rayshard Brooks. Brooks’s killing comes as protests against racist police violence continue across the country, with mounting demands for cities to defund and abolish their police forces. Southerners On New Ground co-director Mary Hooks says reform alone is not sufficient. "Officers, no matter their intention, no matter their motive, they are tied and bound to a system that by training, its orders, its beliefs, is inherently rotten." She says the conversation should not be centered around how to keep better tabs on this system, but rather how to "shrink the institution until it is no longer legitimate." There are protests where protests have never been, meaning where White people might be the only ethnicity in the crowd. I applaud the diversity of this moment. There is no question that the critical mass of many of them is owed to White people opting into action this time around. We have always needed White people to step into the fray with us to move the needle of change. But I have to ask, White people: what took you so long? That is not a rhetorical question. I genuinely want to seek out every White person who is newly aghast or enraged in this moment and ask them, “What took you so long?” June 16, 2020. https://level.medium.com/dont-celebrate-white-people-being-late-to-the-fight-2b10f4569762

I told Pastor Kelly Ryan I had great reservations talking about the one topic that I think about every single day. Then, a terrorist massacred nine innocent people in a church that I went to, in a city that I still think of as home. At that point, I knew that despite any misgivings, I needed to talk about race. You see, I don’t talk about race with White people. July 6, 2015. https://medium.com/thsppl/i-racist-538512462265

  8. [Referenced / resourced, but not read in segment] "And the Pulitzer Prize for Caucasity Goes to...." Michael Harriot, Theroot. June 2, 2020. This weekend, as I watched COVID-19’s racial disparities blow a 104,600-point lead to extrajudicial police killings, I pondered the effectiveness of nonviolent protest versus “riots.” I imagined strategies that might deter police brutality. I even considered if chaos was a good thing. But, of all the things that crossed my mind, there was never even a microsecond where I thought to myself: “I bet Russell Wilson could solve this.” Maybe I am stupid. https://www.theroot.com/and-the-pulitzer-prize-for-caucasity-goes-to-1843835336

I was born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota. My single mother never held a job once she had us, so my sister and I grew up in low-income housing and took public transportation everywhere. We saw so much of the Twin Cities that most of our fellow white peers never got to see. We were comfortable in the neighborhoods they called “scary.” We preferred shopping in Asian grocery stores and eating in indie restaurants owned by people of color. It’s safe to say we grew up thinking we were “good” with diversity. Not racist. May 31, 2020. https://medium.com/honestly-yours/white-people-dont-know-how-to-be-allies-to-black-people-450e65d888b0
